The Arts Council of Clinton celebrates that heritage by providing support and promotion to area artists.
In addition, we provide area students with art scholarships that validate their talents and help them to pursue and fulfill their dreams of embracing art as an integral part of their lives.
The Arts Council of Clinton is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists to:
Advocate and support existing arts programs, educational organizations and individual artists.
Introduce new and innovative artistic endeavors.
Facilitate outreach efforts which cultivate community enrichment and appreciation of the arts.

2009 Great Directors Series
Hitchcock Festival
The Arts Council presented its first film in the 2009 Great Directors Series, The Skin Game on Friday, Apirl 24 on the brick streets of Old Towne Clinton. We will be presenting a different Hitchcock film on the fourth Friday of each month ending the series on October 23 with Psycho.

Brick Streets Press Annual Writers' Workshop
& Awards Reception
was held Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Clinton Visitor Center, 1300 Pinehaven Road. Nationally known author and humorist Jill Conner Browne was our speaker and the winners of our 2009 Short Story Contest were announced.
Watch for the release of the "Brick Streets Press 2009 Winners' Circle" to read these outstanding short stories. Photos to be posted very soon.

The Arts Council Announces the
2009 "Paint the Town" Art Contest Winners
The Arts Council of Clinton invited all local 9th-12th graders to participate in the 2009 "Paint the Town" Art Contest. The theme of this annual contest required entries to reflect on Clinton area historical sites, city landmarks, nature areas, and other community venues. Arts Council Board Member, Angie Miller stated, "Local art students are encouraged to take a look around Clinton to find inspiration for their art projects."
Sheri Shramek incorporates the contest into her teaching schedule at Clinton High School each
year. She is amazed by what the students find hidden in plain sight around town. The students
use their talents and also learn more about the City of Clinton. Arts Council board member, Hazel Gaines reports, "We are thrilled to have Mississippi illustrator
Rick Anderson and Arts Council President George Ewing selecting the winning entries. It is
meaningful to the students to have such well-recognized and successful artists assessing their
talent and hard work." Participants were recognized and winning artists were awarded their prize money at the Paint
the Town Awards Reception held on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the Clinton
Visitor Center. Winning artwork
